Help with a WordPress home page?

I want to modify a WordPress template - just for the home page, to act more as a traditional landing page, but am not sure how to do that. Anyone able to help, please?

Did you try going to plugins? If you search 'landing page' there are lots of options that pop up. I asked a similar question during a chat with wordpress (complimentary with a business subscription) and that's what he suggested.
